The Heart of Money
An experiential street art project challenging us to explore our relationships with art, money and the intersection between.
Welcome to "The Heart of Money," a temporary art installation nestled in the vibrant cityscape of Denver, Colorado. Here, we delve into the intricate tapestry of human connections with currency, exploring the dynamic interplay between art and money. Beyond the traditional confines of galleries, "The Heart of Money" transforms these often overlooked connections into a visual and emotional experience.
What the F*ck is this?
On Valentine’s Day 2024 we are placing 100 papier-mâché hearts constructed entirely out of US currency around the Denver metro area. These hearts are made of 100 $1 bills, water soluble glue and red temporary paint so they are easily deconstructed into the component currency if desired.
What if money was an ally to create the world as we want it to be? Who decides what art is worth?
Why did we do this?
To inject playfulness in a world that needs it. To spark conversation around uncomfortable subjects. To explore themes of generosity, agency, temporality and value. To create and connect community. To consider how the circulation of currency can promote generativity.
